So I always loved to take pictures; of buildings, of landscapes, of the things my wife and I would encounter on vacation.
Some time around Summer of 2023 I started taking photos of birds, and really enjoyed the technical challenge of capturing their personalities.
Over time I've managed to capture hundreds of photos, and felt they deserve a proper home of their own, which is this web site.
I hope you enjoy.
To be fair, I asked Claude for a list of suggestions, and this was one of them. The idea was to have something a little light-hearted, given that I'm not trying to be a professional photographer or artist. Just some random person sharing the photos I've taken over time.
Most of the photos on this web site were taken using a Nikon Z-6 II camera, more recently I've been using a Nikkor Z 180-600mm f/5.6-6.3 VR lens with an attached TC-2.0x teleconverter.
Some of the photos taken here, especially when my wife and I are traveling were taken with a Nikon Coolpix P-1000 point and shoot camera.
Most of my photo shoots are in Wake County, Nort Carolina. Some of the best places to find birds in Raleigh include Lake Lynn and Durant Nature Preserve.
